The Good Hope Centre e.V. association does good for children in Tanzania. We are a recognized non-profit association based in Halle/Westphalia and, together with our Dutch cooperation partner, run a children's home for 104 disadvantaged children in Tanzania, a kindergarten for a further 56 children with an attached pre-school and an elementary school for 280 children in the immediate vicinity. The school is attended by our children in Ngorika and a further 170 children from the surrounding area.
We also employ a total of 70 staff at the home (caregivers, teachers, cooks, nurses, etc.). Our social work team also looks after the living relatives during the time the children are living and learning with us by making home visits.
We also support "our" children in attending secondary school and making the transition to work - no matter what future they dream of.
At the Good Hope Center, we give children in Tanzania the chance of a self-determined life through education and a safe home. Every small donation helps to break the cycle of poverty - and every cent makes a difference.

Tanzania - one of the poorest countries on our planet. Although the East African state is peaceful and politically stable, education, drinking water and medical care are areas where there are major shortages. With our projects, we start directly where help is needed most and offer children in emergency situations a home where they can receive all-round care and go to school. For a self-determined future for the children, five points are particularly important to us:

How can help get to where it is needed in the long term? How can people who want to help others be guaranteed that their donation will reach its destination untouched?
With these questions in mind, the founders of the Good Hope Centre e.V. made their first trip to Tanzania in 2006 and soon after started working with the Good Hope Children's Home. The cooperation was continued with the Dutch foundation "Happy Watoto" and continues to this day.
In 2007, the association Good Hope Center e.V. was founded and in 2009 the construction of the "Happy Watoto Homes" and the "Happy Watoto School" in Ngorika began. These were opened on 17.05.2011. The recognized association has grown steadily since then and has been enriched over the years by the support of well-known personalities, established companies and many private sponsors.
Good Hope Centre e.V. is a charity that lives up to its responsibility to pass on all donations unaffected and provides clear insights into what they achieve for our children: growing up in security and the chance of a better future.
