Volunteer Anna: A holiday visit to Angel’s grandma

Angel was so happy when we suddenly found ourselves at her grandma’s (Bibi Anna) door. She was speechless because she knew nothing about our visit.

She lives with her grandma during the holidays because her mother cannot take care of Angel. She lives there with her little sister. Angel’s grandmother is HIV-positive, but she takes very good care of them. Nevertheless, the living conditions are very poor, and the grandmother’s area is also very poor. She told me that Angel feels very much at home during her holidays with grandma Bibi. She showed me around and showed me everything. Flowers were picked for me from the small front garden. We enjoyed the day together and had a lot of fun.
